In response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Camarillo Public Library is closed to all visitors per the City of Camarillo’s Emergency Operations Center Director Order No. 20-1. During the closure, all regularly scheduled events and programs are cancelled. The Friends of the Camarillo Library Bookstore and Giant Steps Cafe are also closed until further notice.
In this global crisis, the Library is a virtual platform connecting Camarillo residents to the resources they need. Librarians are ready to assist patrons with reference inquiries using a new online chat service. From 10am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, library chat can be accessed through a new icon located in the bottom right corner of the Library website, or directly at https://camarillolibrary.libanswers.com. Additionally, patrons may contact the Library by any of the following:
The Library continues to offer digital services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through the Digital Resources website. Below are direct links for several popular services.
- eBooks and eAudiobooks
- Streaming media
- Online classes
- Virtual tutoring
- Streaming music
- Digital magazines
During the closure, due dates for borrowed materials are automatically extended, no late fines are assessed, and patrons may return materials using outside book drops or simply wait until the Library reopens. The holds queue for materials is paused and patrons will have one week to pick up held items once the Library reopens. Virtual access library cards are available upon request.
