Courage and Contribution [NR]

The Ventura County Chinese American Historical Society captures the history of the Chinese in Ventura from 1865-1970, and the dedication of the China Alley Memorial mural commemorating Chinese American history in Ventura. Often the rich history of the Chinese in Ventura County cannot be easily found. Their vital contribution is key in understanding their part in the development of the state of California.

Grit & Grace [NR]

Chinese settlers farmed the area prior to the opening of the historic sugar beet factory. Oxnard has been enriched by the fine Chinese community, and celebrated with the first Asian mayor to be elected in Oxnard in 1966.

George Yu, Chair, Ventura County Chinese American Historical Society, hosts this event and will lead a brief Q&A after the movies.
